One of the products we are excited to share with our customers is our wide selection of quartz for both countertops and other interior applications. Made from quartz particles and other minerals mixed in with resins, quartz is engineered instead of naturally designed, and it is more amenable to a variety of colors and patterns.
It is still quite durable, in many respects being even more forgiving than many natural stones, meaning there is even less likelihood of chips, cracks or scratches. Quartz’ non porous surface means that it is also less likely to harbor bacteria and germs than other countertops, making it a great option for the health-minded, and why it is so often used in hospitals, doctors’ offices, and schools. It also resists stains much better than granite, marble, or other materials, standing up against even the most acidic of liquids, like coffee, juice, and wine.
It’s biggest drawback, and it is a fairly minor one, is that it is not as heat-resistant as natural stones. After all, granite, marble, and quartzite are all forged under great heat and pressure over great amounts of time. However, the plastic in the resins that give quartz its shape can melt in heat over 300 degrees Fahrenheit, so you’ll want to be careful about putting hot pots and pans on it.
With the innovations that have been made in the development of quartz, we are excited to see them continue to increase, as with our newest product line, Radianz quartz. This high-density material offers the beauty, durability, and wide range of colors and patterns that quartz is known for, and the company goes to great lengths to ensure that their product stands apart even more through their dedication to eco-friendly production.
Because Radianz is made from recycled materials, it reduces industrial waste and energy consumption during production. Certified eco-friendly by GREENGUARD and GRANDGUARD GOLD, Radianz has also been certified by the Scientific Certification System as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) product, one of the most popular green building certification programs in the U.S. and a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.
Radianz is so confident in their product that they offer a 15-year warranty to residential owners and a 10-year warranty to commercial projects.
When you’re ready to replace your countertop, renovate your bathroom, or add that outdoor kitchen you’ve been wanting, consider if quartz will be a good fit for you and then stop by our public showroom to find the perfect stone.
